This James Rodgers is thought
to be James Rodgers IV, due to the fact that James the 2nd was supposedly the
head of the Presbyterian Church in Ulster, Ireland and James the 1st emigrated
from Scotland in 1644 to Ireland because of religious persecution. James IV married his 1st wife, Mary McPherson in the New England area around 1729. Mary was born in the New England area and
died in New England before 1760. James

from 1754-1763). James sold supplies to
Col. Arthur Campbell's Continental Army during the Revolutionary War (The war
began in 1774 and ended in 1789) and received a land grant in Copiah Co, MS. He
was also a Militia Captain. He served with Gen. George Rogers Clark during the
Revolutionary War in KY. He received a 640 acre land grant for his
service. He served on the First Grand
Jury of Greene Co, TN in 1793. His Will
