James Rodgers IV was born before 1718 in (possibly) Tyrone Co., Ireland.  He died before 05/22/1760 in Augusta Co., Virginia.  This James Rodgers is thought to be James Rodgers IV, due to the fact that James the 2nd was supposedly the head of the Presbyterian Church in Ulster, Ireland and James the 1st emigrated from Scotland in 1644 to Ireland because of religious persecution. James IV married his 1st wife, Mary McPherson in the New England area around 1729.  Mary was born in the New England area and died in New England before 1760.  James and Mary (possibly) had several children, one of which is;

After the death of Mary McPherson, James Rodgers IV then married his 2nd wife, Ann Simm.  Ann died after 1760.  James Rodgers and Ann Simm had 2 children, which are, as follows:

 

1. Thomas Rodgers (born about 1740 in Augusta Co., VA, married Elizabeth White in Virginia, and died 04/06/1800 in Washington Co., TN).  Elizabeth was born in Virginia. She died in Washington Co., TN.

James Rodgers V (James Rodgers, Sr.) was born between 1732 and 1745 in the New England area and died in July 1794 or 1795 in Greene Co., TN.  He married Margaret _____? on 05/21/1766 in Augusta Co., VA.  James served in the French and Indian War (the war lasted from 1754-1763).  James sold supplies to Col. Arthur Campbell's Continental Army during the Revolutionary War (The war began in 1774 and ended in 1789) and received a land grant in Copiah Co, MS. He was also a Militia Captain. He served with Gen. George Rogers Clark during the Revolutionary War in KY. He received a 640 acre land grant for his service.  He served on the First Grand Jury of Greene Co, TN in 1793.  His Will was written on July 5, 1794 in Greene Co, TN.  Margaret was born around 1746 in Virginia and died on 01/29/1811 near Bull’s Gap, Greene Co., TN.    James Rodgers V and Margaret had 8 children, which are, as follows:

1. James Rodgers “Jr.” (b. 1767/1769 in Virginia – d. 08/09/1826 in Copiah Co., MS) – SEE LINEAGE BELOW

Joseph Rodgers (b. 1767/1769 in Augusta Co., VA – d. 06/06/1833 in Knox Co., TN).  Joseph married Elizabeth Donaldson on 12/30/1790 in the Donaldson' ancestral home near Russellville, Greene Co., TN.  She was born on 02/25/1767 in VA and died on 09/03/1846 in Knox County, TN  They had 10 children, which are, as follows: James, William (Esquire), Mary Polly, Andrew Thomas, Margaret “Peggy,” Joseph, Elizabeth Ramsey, Rebecca, Martha, and Sarah Elizabeth “Sally” Rodgers.

3. John Rodgers (b. before 1782 in Virginia – d. 01/23/1832 in Washington Co., TN).  John married Jane Ross on 12/31/1802 in Washington Co., TN. Jane Ross was born in 1786 in Greene Co., TN, and died on 06/01/1841 in Washington Co., TN.  They had 3 children, which are, as follows: Nancy P. Margaret, and Son Rodgers.

4. Samuel Rodgers (b. before 1781 in Virginia – d. n/a).  Samuel married Susannah Ross on 08/02/1800 in Washington Co., TN.  Susannah Ross was born in 1785 in Greene Co., TN.  They had 2 children, which are, as follows: James and John Rodgers.

5. Thomas Rodgers (b. 1770 in Washington Co., TN – d. 10/16/1852 in Jefferson Co., TN).  Thomas married Mary Donaldson in 1797 in Jefferson Co., TN.  Mary Donaldson was born in 1772 in PA, and died in 1858 in Roane Co., TN.  They had 10 children, which are, as follows: Margaret L. “Peggy,” Jane D. “Jenny,” Thomas Leslie (Sr.), Rebecca P. “Becca,” William J. (Sr.), James W., Sarah Elizabeth, Anna D., Jacob B., and Jonathan Rodgers.

James Rodgers “JR.” married Elly Hays on 12/20/1790 in Greene Co., TN.  Elly was born in 1774 in Washington Co., NC.  James Jr. and Elly went to visit in Mississippi. He died there and She went back to Grove Hill, Clarke Co., Alabama. She died there in 1839.  James Jr. was a blacksmith.  They had 11 children, which are, as follows:

1.  Elizabeth Rodgers (b. 12/25/1791 in Greene Co., TN – d. 1875 in Houston Co., TX).  Elizabeth married Jesse B. Landrum on 12/29/1816 in Clarke Co., AL.  They had the following child, which is, as follows: Lozen Landrum.

2.  Hays Rodgers Sr. (b. 02/01/1793 in Greene Co., TN – d. in December 1862 in Pine Springs, Lauderdale Co., MS)  – SEE LINEAGE BELOW

4.  Absalom Rodgers (b. 1795 in Greene Co., TN – d. 04/25/1853 in Clarke Co., AL).  Absalom married Eleanor Walker about 1813 in Wilcox Co., AL.  Eleanor Walker was born in 1801/1804 in SC and died after 1853 in Clarke Co., AL.  Absalom was in the War of 1812 in Major Dale's Battalion, Mississippi Militia and in 15 Reg't (Johnson's) Mississippi Militia.  Absalom and Eleanor had 8 children, which are, as follows: Eleanor, Ann, James N., Wesley, Lavenia C., Andrew Hays (Sr.), John N., and Jackson Rodgers.

6.  Susannah Rodgers (b. 11/09/1799 in Greene Co., TN – d. 11/04/1883 in Copiah Co., MS).  Susannah married John O. Deaton on 11/08/1821 in Monroe Co., AL.  They had 9 children, which are, as follows: James Riley, Melissa Caroline, Pinkney William, Ellen Ann “Ella,” Lydia Jane, Mary Elizabeth, Lavinia, William Hays, and Henry H. Deaton.

Hays Rodgers SR. married Mary A. Scott on 16 Dec 1816 in Clarke Co., Alabama.  He was in the War of 1812 in Major Dale's Battalion, Mississippi Militia and in the 15 Reg't (Johnson's) Mississippi Militia.  Mary A. Scott was born on 03/02/1797 in Georgia or Tennessee. She died in 1870/1880 in Pine Springs, Lauderdale Co., Mississippi.  Hays and Mary had 14 children, which are, as follows:

1.  Lewis Rodgers (b. 09/20/1817 in Clarke Co., AL – d. 12/27/1890 in Cherokee Co., TX) -  Lewis married 1st wife Nancy Powell Ward on 04/08/1841 in Lauderdale Co., MS.  Nancy was born on 03/07/1827 in AL and died in 1863 in Cherokee Co, TX..  Lewis and Nancy had 9 children, which were, as follows: John Morgan, William Hays, Allen Ward, Elizabeth Rebecca, Martha Eleanor, Amanda Jennie, Frances Josephine “Frank,” Lewis Banks (Sr.), and Mary Tribble Tennessee Rodgers.  Lewis married 2nd wife Sarah Ann Brady  on 01/07/1865 in Anderson Co., TX.  Sarah was born about 1832 in AL and died in 1870 in Rusk, Cherokee Co., TX. After the death of his first wife, William Franklin “Bill” Rodgers married 2nd wife Luna B. Collins on 01/15/1891 in Carroll Co., MS.  Luna was born on 05/28/1867 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  She died on 09/16/1908 in Montgomery Co., MS  Bill and Luna had 7 children, which are, as follows:

1. Lelah “Lee” Rodgers (b. 08/13/1893 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 08/27/1960).  Lelah married David L. Campbell on 12/27/1916 in Montgomery Co., MS.   David was born on 09/14/1892 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 10/03/1973 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  They had 2 children, which are, as follows: Odean and Kenneth Campbell.  Lee and David are buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery County, MS.

2. Irby Jackson Rodgers (b. 07/27/1895 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 01/21/1919).  He is buried in Mission Baptist Church Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MS.  No other information, including children, is available.

3. Timothy “Ab” Rodgers (b. 02/05/1897 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 02/04/1974 in Lowndes Co., MS).  Timothy married Lillie Mabel Patrick on 12/27/1924 in Montgomery Co., MS.   They had 2 children, which are, as follows: Junior Rodgers and Betty Jean Rodgers.   No further information is available.

4. Margaret “Gipsie” Rodgers (b. 08/26/1898 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 03/30/1987 in Greenwood-Leflore Hospital, Greenwood, MS. She is buried in New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MS).  Margaret married Carroll Marshall Bennett on 02/27/1918 in Montgomery Co., MS.   Carroll was born on 07/07/1886 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 07/08/1967.  He is buried in New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MS.  They had 10 children, which are, as follows: Hazel Gertrude, Tilmon Harris, Edith Elizabeth “Betty,” Thelma, Velma, Alma Luvenia, Marshall Mae, Opal, Nelda Jean, and George William Bennett.

5. Alice Alene Lucille Rodgers (b. 07/04/1901 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 05/24/1997 in Montgomery Co., MS. Alice married Percy Herbert McCoy on 11/27/1924 in Montgomery Co., MS.   Percy was born on 02/27/1893 and died on 09/06/1968 in Duck Hill, Montgomery Co., MS.  They had 2 children, which are, as follows: Eleanor M. and William Herbert McCoy.  Alice Rodgers McCoy and Percy Herbert McCoy are buried in New Hope Baptist Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MS. 

6. Ruby Idell Rodgers (b. 02/24/1904 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 04/18/1974. She is buried in New Hope Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS).  Ruby married Cecil C. Oliver on 02/26/1938 in Montgomery Co., MS.  No other information, including children, is available, except that she later married a Matthews (first name n/a).

7. Estelle Marie Rodgers (b. 07/10/1908 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS – d. 10/02/1908). She is buried at Mission Baptist Church Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MS.

Erma Lou Rodgers married Major Robert "Bob" Collins (01/15/1872 – 01/11/1945) on 01/21/1897 in Montgomery Co., MS.  Bob and Erma had 8 children, which are, as follows:

1. Joe Marlow Collins was born on 12/31/1897 in Montgomery Co., MS and died on 06/17/1966 in Montgomery Co., MS. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  Joe Marlow was married to:  1. Bessie Blaylock and 2. Nettie Chandler.  Bessie was born and died in MS.  After the divorce of Joe and Bessie, Joe married Nettie Chandler.  Nettie was born on 08/11/1905 and died on 03/23/1985.  Bessie married Leonard T. Caddess.  Bessie Blaylock Collins Caddess is buried at the Oakwood Cemetery, Montgomery Co., MS.  Joe and Nettie are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  No other information, including children, is available.

2. Dell Small Collins was born on 10/05/1900 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 08/30/1949 in Montgomery Co., MS. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  Joe married Amy Dell Stephens-Brookshire.  Amy Dell was born on 01/12/1902 and died on 01/14/1983 in Montgomery Co., MS. She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  No other information, including children, is available.

3. Lottie Mae Collins was born on 02/05/1902 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 03/21/1997. She is buried in Paducah, Kentucky. She was married 3 times: 1. Rupert "Jack" Dalton; 2. James Ellis Hays; and 3. Elmer Ellsworth Robinson.  Lottie never had any children from any of her marriages.

4. Lattie Rodgers “Doc” Collins was born on 04/28/1905 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 08/07/1977 in Montgomery Co., MS. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS. He married Corrine Odom.  Corrine was born on 08/06/1917 and died on 08/03/1973 in Montgomery Co., MS. She is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS.  No other information, including children, is available.

5. Lay Turner Collins was born on 10/20/1907 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 02/28/1985 in El Monte, CA. He is buried in Oakdale Cemetery, Glendora, Los Angeles Co., CA.  He married Flora Mae Kite on 10/31/1937 in Grenada Co., MS.  They had 3 children, which are, as follows: Paul Turner (10/19/1940 - ), Martha Nell (10/15/1944 - ) and Mary Frances “Fran” Collins (08/19/1949 - ).

 

6. Nick Pegues Collins was born on 06/13/1910 in Winona, Montgomery Co., MS and died on 02/07/1999 in Montgomery Co., MS. He is buried in Oakwood Cemetery, Winona, Montgomery Co., MS. He married Rosa Crane Brookshire on 03/05/1936.  They had 6 children, which are, as follows: Deanna Brookshire (02/26/1939 - ), Linda Carol (09/18/1945 - ). Judith Maxine Richards married her first husband, Daniel “Dan” Schock, on February 14, 1970. He was born November 22, 1920 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, and died June 07, 1983 in Fort Wayne Indiana. They had had 2 children, which are, as follows: RICHARD DALE SCHOCK, b. April 27, 1971, Paducah, Kentucky, and JOHN WILLIAM SCHOCK, b. December 13, 1975, Marion, Indiana.  She married second husband, FRANK GOTSCHALL July 15, 1989.

 

Judith Maxine Richards Schock Gotschall is said to be buried in the Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Tiffin, Seneca County, Ohio, with her first husband, Dan Schock.

Ronnie Lee Collins married 1st wife, Deborah Lynn Chrismond (b. 06/28/1959) on 06/01/1979.  Ronnie was 24y, 5m, 1d old and Deborah was 19y, 11m, 4d old at the time of the marriage.  Ronnie was 4y, 5m, 28d older than Deborah.  Ronnie and Deborah had no children and divorced in 1986. 

On 05/25/1990, Ronnie married 2nd wife, Annette Wren Pipkin (b. 04/05/1966).  Ronnie was 35y, 4m, 24d and Annette was 24y, 1m, 20d old at the time of the marriage. Ronnie was 11y, 3m, 5d older than Annette.  They had 2 children which are, as follows:

1. Cody Ryan Collins (b. 03/30/1993) – Ron was 38y, 2m, 27d old and Annette was 26y, 11m, 25d old when Cody was born.

2. Sean Eric Collins (b. 03/05/1996) – Cody was 2y, 11m, 4d old when Sean was born.  Ron was 41y, 2m, 3d old and Annette was 29y, 11m, 0d old when Sean was born.

Ronnie L. Collins and Annette Wren Pipkin divorced in 1997.
